One word I saw everywhere in Greece. It means: “For Rent”. Empty closed shops and centers on kilometers of highway… The view was really depressive. I caught the flu before going there; which meant a whole week in bed!
My history with Greece goes back to my childhood. I lived a period of my life there, went to school and grew friends. Several years later after coming back to Lebanon, I was able to reconnect with my old classmates using Facebook.
I loved the joy this country gave me while growing up and for that I am thankful. And for this, I was heartbroken and felt even sicker when I saw the scenery around me. Forgive me, I could not take plenty of photos.
Worried. That’s how most people look in Greece.
