My take on the Feast for Change event

I had the honor to attend the Feast For Change event yesterday. Food was remarkable, it was really crowded, music was good. The only thing I’d like to point out is that it was too hot (fans would have been welcomed) and that I couldn’t talk with anyone about the challenges and concerns that the industry is facing. Between eating, tweeting and taking pictures, my plate was literally full!

I still think that it’s a great initiative by the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-Clubs & Pastries in Lebanon. All the best for the second edition!

Feast For Change

Is summer the best season in Lebanon or what? A first of its kind event for the F&B industry is going to take place at the Sursock Palace Gardens on Wednesday, 13th of July, 2011 .

It’s called Feast For Change. It’s the first official food & wine event hosted by the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-Clubs & Pastries in Lebanon. The event is under the patronage of Lady Sursock Cochrane who will donate a percentage of proceeds to her foundation, APSAD, for protecting natural sites and old buildings in Lebanon.

What makes Feast For Change very special is that, besides the food sampling, restaurant owners, syndicate members, government officials, the media, the Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Tourism, suppliers and some of the city’s most esteemed individuals will all come together to connect, meet another and share.

A big shout out for the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-Clubs & Pastries in Lebanon for coming forth with such a greatly needed idea. Looking around, it’s easy to notice that very rare are the times where the professional private and public sector get together.

Watch out for my live-tweeting from this exclusive event!
