A quick review of the Huawei Mate 8

I leave the techie reviews for the techies. Here is my a quick and non-deeply-technical review. (The part where I go immediately to the “Verdict” section 🙂 )

Say hello to the Huawei Mate 8!

Huawei Mate 8When I first got the box in order to try the phone, I thought I was receiving jewelry. It has a leather like upscale feel and is very elegant. Extremely convenient for a gift!

That upscale feel continues when you hold the phone but now with metal. 6″ screen is comfortable especially for people who need to focus on reading for a long time. I enjoyed watching videos; the colors are stunning!

The phone is very responsive and pretty fast. I was impressed by its performance. Besides that, it has a great fingerprint sensor and the battery life was good enough and would last a full day (regular use).

What’s different though is that it doesn’t have an app drawer and that confused me at the beginning. because I use a lot of apps! And that Emotion UI changes the logo of the apps which not everyone likes.

The camera was OK, it has a number of settings that took me some time to get used to. I enjoyed making photos during the day, but I had to try more than once in low light to get a good picture.

What I liked  a little less were the speakers; You know when you’re in the car and turn the music to the loudest? The speakers emit a different sound, as if they were suffering 🙂 And that speaker grill? Not much my thing.

All in all the Huawei Mate 8 is a beautiful phone for business people who are looking for a phone supporting dual SIM.
