OBI Japanese Restaurant – Review

OBI, the sushi restaurant I visited is the one that recently opened on the last floor of ABC Dbayeh. (OBI has also a branch in ABC Ashrafieh)

In a relaxed and trendy atmosphere, we were welcomed by the friendly, always smiling OBI staff. The menu is quite diversified and the restaurant has got a list of specialties of its own. Before trying those, we decided to try the traditional items to see if there is any difference and tried other things at random afterwards.

We enjoyed the experience a lot. The taste: Really good especially the salmon! The rice, the colors, the smell and the portions are just right.

What we also appreciated, is that the restaurant did not “smell like fish” which was an issue for many of my friends in other sushi places.

One can easily eat 30 pieces of those When dessert came, it was so good that we had nothing to say! (Funny presentation, by the way)

And there’s an open sushi day formula on Thursday. Would I go back? Definitely yes!

Note: If you’re not a sushi fan, you can always try the beef and chicken rolls. Yes, they exist!

Roadster Diner launched a reward program for Rd Lovers

I was at Roadster’s today and I noticed something new. A loyalty card was launched!

So, how does it work? Well, the system consists of accumulating stars. Every 1000LL is equivalent to one star. starting 200 stars you enter a draw for valuable prizes such as notepads, a Vespa, trips for 2 and even a car!

The only downside to this system is that the reward is not guaranteed; which means that if you collect 1500 stars, you do not automatically get something. Isn’t the principle of loyalty itself being somehow compromised? It doesn’t exactly say “Thank you for being loyal” to every person who spent a substantial amount of money in the restaurant. What do you think of this draw system?

Next time you visit Roadster, don’t forget to ask for the card, fill in the application form, start collecting stars and enter the draws… who knows you might win!

Chicken wings can be quite addictive. I’ve been trying to put up a list for addicts who crave the open chicken wings formula with drinks. Where is it possible to have them in Lebanon?

Roadster Diner’s new menu!

Roadster Diner never ceases to surprise: it has recently launched its new menu! It’s also always heartwarming to meet fellow bloggers and test new things.

So what has changed exactly, you might ask?

New Items:

Curly fries: Twisted french fries.
Texas Steak: French bread, marinated with beef filet slices, sautéed onions, lettuce and Philly Steak sauce with melted Cheddar cheese.

Rd Cheese-At-Heart: Rd special patty stuffed with Swiss and Cheddar cheese, lettuce, crispy chips sprinkles with our Classic sauce.
Rd Double Diner: Double patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, sautéed onions, Cheddar cheese and Cocktail sauce in a two layered bun.
Rd Double-Steak: Grilled beef filet slices, sautéed mushrooms and onions, Swiss and Cheddar cheese, with mayonnaise and Philly Steak sauce in a two layered bun.
Rd Texas Chicken: Grilled chicken, Cheddar cheese, grilled oinons, lettuce, pickles and our special sauce.
De-”Light”-Ful Brownie: Low calorie chocolate brownie topped with light cream cheese.

New Recipes:

Crispy Club
Swiss Mushroom
Low-Cal Tuna

The changes are quite substantial. The menu has also been reorganized to include a Specialty Burger Platters and big juicy images that show exactly what to expect when you order.

From the new items, here my top 3 personal favorites:

Rd Cheese-At-Heart: You can’t go wrong wrong with this one. A Specialty burger that will leave you speechless. It will make you close your eyes and go Mmmmmm!!! There is nothing like it! THERE GOES MY HEART!
Rd Double-Steak: Juicy, yummy, orgasmic. This Specialty burger is enjoyable to the very last bite.
The Ambassador Steak: A colorful eye-candy! This one is for the BIG hungers.

Roadster Diner just raised the bar even higher. It’s going to take a marathon to be able to compete with the quality and the taste.

With this, Roadster Diner wins a place on the “ritakml likes” list!
